More than 300 traditional Bulgarian embroideries in one exceptional volume

Needlework is prose made of threads. Every embroidery is a story. Each embroidered chemise – not just a garment, but an expression of the soul, a mirror, a protector for the one who wears it.
For years Zdravka Dimitrova has been searching out and collecting the embroideries in this collection. Here she reproduces them anew – with a lot of work and a lot of love to preserve the beauty and keep the past alive. Zdravka Moneva Dimitrova was born in Ruse and grew up in the village of Sandrovo. Since 1990 she has been living in USA but has been spending more and more time in her homeland in recent years. Her love for Bulgarian folklore inspires her to search out and collect authentic Bulgarian embroideries, traditional costumes, ethnography books. She is married, with two children and one grandchild. Her family is the most precious thing in her life.

Zdravka Dimitrova will donate all her proceeds from the book “Bulgarian Embroideries from Ruse Region” to the Ruse National School of Arts “Prof. Vesselin Stoyanov”.
